Spray Tan Prep & Aftercare for a Flawless Glow

Pre-Tan Preparation

  1. Plan Beauty Services Ahead
Schedule any waxing, shaving, facials, manicures, or pedicures at least 24 hours before your spray tan to avoid uneven results.

  2. Exfoliate for an Even Application
Gently exfoliate your entire body 24 hours before your appointment using an exfoliating mitt or a non-oil-based scrub to remove dead skin cells. This helps your tan develop smoothly and last longer.

  3. Arrive with Clean, Product-Free Skin
Shower before your appointment (latest would be 4 hours and lightly moisturize) and avoid applying lotion, deodorant, makeup, or perfume right before your appointment, as they can create a barrier and interfere with the tan’s absorption.

  4. Wear Loose, Dark Clothing
Opt for loose-fitting, dark-colored clothing and open-toe sandals to avoid staining and smudging your fresh tan.

Post-Tan Aftercare

  1. Let Your Tan Develop
Wait the recommended time (typically 8-12 hours) before showering. During your first rinse, use lukewarm water only—no soap. Gently rinse until the water runs clear.

  2. Be Gentle When Showering
After the initial rinse, use a sulfate-free, hydrating body wash and avoid harsh scrubbing, loofahs, or exfoliating products.

  3. Pat Dry, Don’t Rub
After showering, pat your skin dry with a towel instead of rubbing to prevent premature fading.

  4. Moisturize Daily
Hydrated skin maintains a tan longer. Use an oil-free, fragrance-free moisturizer at least twice a day to prolong your glow.

  5. Avoid Water & Sweat
Limit swimming, long showers, saunas, and heavy sweating, as they can cause your tan to fade unevenly.

  6. No Exfoliation Until You’re Ready for a New Tan
Avoid exfoliating until you're ready to remove your tan completely and start fresh.

By following these simple steps, you’ll achieve a long-lasting, streak-free, and radiant tan every time!
